The Sea Bird by Gross Motor Gear is a study in compact power, designed for those who need a tool that punches well above its weight class. At the heart of its design is a philosophy of total versatility: whether held tip-up, tip-down, edge-in, or edge-out, the ergonomics remain seamless and intuitive. While it was primarily engineered to excel in a reverse grip, the handle geometry ensures that transitioning to any other configuration feels natural and secure in the hand.

Crafted from 80CrV2 steel, the blade is built for extreme toughness and exceptional edge retention. To maximize its utility, the Sea Bird features a pikal style full flat grind, providing a perfect balance of deep penetration and slicing efficiency. A key feature of this design is the intentional ratio between the handle and the blade; by keeping the handle longer, the leverage remains firmly in the user's palm. This prevents the blade from being torqued out of the hand during heavy use, ensuring the tool stays exactly where it belongs. The handle itself is made from an epoxy soaked nylon overwrap, with black rayskin underneath. 

Even the carry system was designed with the same level of intentionality. The sheath is fully chamfered and rounded, removing any sharp corners or hotspots. Setup to accept a centerline mounted DDC clip it will also fit in various configurations a soft loop, Mummert Ti Clip and many others.  This makes it ideal for comfortable, discreet carry—whether inside the waistband or in any other preferred position—ensuring that the Sea Bird is always ready without being a hindrance.
